Get To Know Knox
About Us
Founded by Craig Knox in Crafton and brokered by Real, we help buyers and sellers across Pittsburgh's western suburbs, from Carnegie and Bridgeville to Moon Township and Sewickley.
We might not be ranked #1, but our clients say we're the best.
How is every real estate agent and team ranked #1 in their marketing?
The lack of ethics and integrity in real estate is why I am here. Look at any real estate agent or team's social media profile or website, and they're all claiming to be number one, top seller, and it's all a load of bull.
Real estate requires a relationship with trust, and how does one start that relationship by lying to you before you've even said hello?
We're proud to say we are not ranked number one at anything, and maybe it's crazy to say that, but the truth is, we don't care if we are the number one-ranked team or agent. We only care that our clients think we're the best, because we gave them our best, and if we need to lie to you to get your business, we don't deserve it.

Something so personal should never be transactional
We Do It Differently.
We’re the team that doesn’t sell houses - we sell guidance, advice, and provide a service experience that we are building to be the best there is. The result of that is your home sells for the highest return on your investment, and our clients buy the best home that fits their needs, lifestyle, budget, with the highest likelihood to pay them back in future equity growth while doing good. That’s why we’re different. We’re not commission vampires sharpening our fangs at a prospective lead, we’re humans helping humans through one of life’s biggest and most complicated transactions that we never want to feel transactional.
Real estate was an accidental career. After my third corporate layoff, having been a healthcare executive and, along the way, growing brands and working in marketing, learning and development, and leading people, I decided to start my own business. I wanted to take everything I'd learned and fix something that was fundamentally broken. I landed on real estate, a world I grew up in. I've been part of more than 30 transactions between my own and my family's, and the experience was always lacking. The process, frankly, sucked. A lot of people end up in real estate because of their own bad experiences, so count me in.
That's why I started The Knox Team: a people-first team that guides you through what may be the biggest transaction of your life, without ever making it feel transactional.

Real Good Neighor Guarantees
Our business is built on service and creating the experiences we'd want for ourselves - inspired by the bad - or lack of experiences I had in real estate as a consumer.
Real Good Neighbors VIP isn't just about giving you tons of extra value others don't, it's the DNA of who we are at the Knox team and is also comes with some Real Good Neighbor Guarantees others don't give.
Love It Or List It Free Guarantee
- If you don't love your new home, we'll list it and find your next one free for the first year.
Easy Exit Listing Guarantee
- Lack of communication is the #1 complaint sellers have. If we don't keep our commitment to provide weekly status updates, you can exit your contract no questions asked.
Declining Commission Guarantee
- If we don't get you an offer on your home in the first 30 days within $2K of the list price, we'll reduce out fee every month until it sells. (Terms & Conditions Apply.)
How I Help Pittsburgh
Buyers and Sellers
Every move is different. These are the ones I know best, and here is how I handle each one.

Relocating to Pittsburgh
Moving to a city you don't know means guessing about neighborhoods, commutes, schools, and what a fair price looks like here. I take the guesswork out of it.
Many of my relocation clients buy before they ever set foot in Pittsburgh. I do virtual tours and video walkthroughs and give you honest feedback on every home, including the things the listing photos don't show. I'll also tell you what it's like to actually live in each neighborhood, from the commute downtown or to the airport to where you'll grab coffee on Saturday morning. I live in Crafton, and I know the western suburbs block by block.
If you're selling a home somewhere else, I can connect you with a trusted agent in that market so both sides of your move stay on track.

Buying and Selling a House
at the Same Time
This is one of the moves I help with most. It's also where things fall apart most often. You're juggling two contracts, two closings, and the fear of ending up with two mortgages or nowhere to live.
The answer is planning both sides from day one. Before your home hits the market, we map out your timeline, your budget, and your backup plan. Depending on your situation, that can mean buying your next home before you sell, selling now and moving later, or lining up both closings on the same day. As a licensed mortgage loan originator, I can also help you understand your financing options early, so you aren't surprised halfway through.

Selling a Probate or Inherited Home
I've been through probate myself, so I know how heavy it is to make decisions about a house while you're grieving, especially when the family doesn't agree on what to do with it.
I'll walk you through every step of selling an inherited home in Pennsylvania, help you decide what's worth fixing and what to sell as-is, and handle the details of the sale. My job is to take as much off your plate as I can, so you can focus on your family.

Selling Your Home
Marketing is my background, and every listing gets a real marketing plan. That includes staging guidance, professional photos and video that are never shot on a phone, and marketing that puts your home in front of the buyers most likely to pay for it. Our Listing Concierge handles the details, and sellers get Seller's Shield, $75,000 in post-closing disclosure liability coverage.
Sure, we'll put a sign in your yard, take listing pics, and open doors. For many agents, that's all they give you. For us, it's the least of what we do.

How I Work
If you want salespeople with commission breath, you're in the wrong place. As your fiduciary, your best interest is our only interest. Sometimes that means talking you out of a house or telling you a list price is too high. If we ever make a mistake, we'll own it.
When we tour homes, we come with moisture meters, electrical testers, and even drones to check the roof, so we can spot problems before you make an offer. While other agents are dressing up in clothes they can't afford, we're climbing in crawl spaces and finding out the age of the HVAC that was magically left off the disclosures.
I'm also a certified project manager (PMP), and I run every transaction like a project. A home sale has over 250 moving parts. We map every deadline, milestone, and decision from contract to closing, and you'll always know where you stand.

After Closing Day
When you close with us, you become a Real Good Neighbors VIP member for life, with 11 benefits and counting, like free home warranties, re-key service, free rentals from our Community Tool Shed, Good Neighbor Appreciation Days, and annual home valuations. Because it's not about adding you to a tally of closed transactions. It's about you, and only your needs.

Local Knowledge
Where I Work in Pittsburgh
Most of my clients live in Pittsburgh's western suburbs, and I can tell you what makes each one different.
- Crafton and Rosslyn Farms: Walkable streets and older homes with character, a few minutes from downtown. Crafton is home for me.
- Carnegie: A revived Main Street, the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall, and an easy hop onto the Parkway.
- Bridgeville, Collier, Presto, and South Fayette: More space, newer construction, and the South Fayette School District, which draws a lot of families.
- Robinson, North Fayette, Moon Township, and Coraopolis: Close to Pittsburgh International Airport and the shopping along the Robinson corridor, a favorite for people who travel for work.
- Bellevue, Avalon, and Sewickley: River towns with walkable business districts, historic homes, and Sewickley's village feel.
We're happy to help you with you real estate needs elsewhere in Allegheny County and the borders of Washington County, Beaver County, and Butler County.
What to Ask Before You Hire Any Realtor
Choosing your agent is the most important decision you'll make in a move, so ask every agent you interview these questions, including me:
- How many homes like mine have you helped buy or sell, and in which neighborhoods?
- What's your background before real estate? (Newer agents.)
- What's your marketing plan for my home, beyond putting it on the MLS?
- How will you handle the timeline if I'm buying and selling at the same time?
- Will you tell me if you think I'm making a mistake?
- Who will I actually work with day to day?
If the answers sound like a sales pitch, keep interviewing.

Pawperty Pros Real Estate Rescue
Meet Peanut
Hi! I’m Peanut, proud rescue, professional snuggler, & the real boss around here.
I met my dad through Paws Across Pittsburgh when he foster failed, saving my life. Pretty great place to be for a pup who was left tied to a fence in West Virginia at 4 weeks old and almost given bus fare across the rainbow bridge.
Now I get to help save other dogs through Pawperty Pros, the foundation my employee, er, dad, and I started. I even sat through every real estate class and the licensing exam with him, so I know my stuff.
I'm also technically a Real Estate Agent. I sat through the classes, certification exam, and I'm great on a home tour and home inspection. I'm the real reason our clients work with us and love us, but don't tell my dad I said that. Most of our clients bring me treats or toys. Not that you need to, but I wouldn't be a sad Peanut if you did.
The Pawperty Pros Foundation
We believe everyone deserves a home, and home isn't home for us without the sound of paws click clacking across the floor when we walk in the door.
Our rescue mission came before our real estate business did. For every home we sell, we donate the cost of rescuing a pet from a kill shelter to Paws Across Pittsburgh and other nonprofit animal rescues.
We also love showing up for our communities, because that's what good neighbors do. Got a neighborhood event? Reach out and we'll add it to our events page and help out if we can.
About Real
The World's Second Largest Real Estate Company,
Now Serving Pittsburgh
Real Broker might be new to Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania, but we're part of the 2nd largest real estate company in the world. We're excited to bring the best real estate experience to our new Pittsburgh neighbors.
Founded in 2014, Real grew from a startup cloud brokerage of 6 to 38,000 agents across the US and Canada, becoming the 5th largest, fastest growing, and most technologically advanced real estate brokerage in the country in just 11 years. In 2025 alone, Real agents sold over $75 billion in real estate. Then, in August 2026, Real acquired REMAX, forming the Real REMAX Group, which trades on the Nasdaq as REAX.
Unlike most brokerages, Real isn't a franchise. Real's cloud-based model cuts overhead, so we can invest in our agents and clients instead: the best training, in-house technology that helps sell homes faster and for more money, and the most advanced home buying experience with HeyLeo, our in-house AI.

The Knox Team at Real Broker is cloud based, but our hub is in Crafton, PA. Our corporate office is in Fort Washington, PA. While we have a physical office on our road map, we've found our clients love closing in the home they bought instead of a stuffy office, or meeting for coffee to talk about their journey. In fact, past clients tell us they wish every brokerage worked this way.
Every Knox Team client gets 1:1 support from the agent they hired and a fiduciary-first approach. We also believe the bar to become a real estate agent is too low, so our founder has rigorous standards for who joins the team, and every team member goes through intense training in project management, home repair costs, finding issues in a home, and finance and mortgage.
The caliber, skill, and quality of your agent matter most when deciding who to work with, because a home is a major asset and purchase. The brokerage matters too, because it shapes the training and tools your agent has. We joined Real Broker because it gives us the training and technology to stay up to date and give our clients the best experience, with technology that supports the human relationship. There's a reason Real went from a startup to the 5th largest brokerage in the country in 11 years. As a group insanely passionate for service and customer experience, Real was the only brokerage that shared that passion.
Yes. Real is 12 years old and became the 5th largest brokerage in the country in 11 years. Last year, Real agents closed more than 185,000 transactions worth over $75 billion. On August 24, 2026, Real completed its acquisition of REMAX, and the combined Real REMAX Group has more than 180,000 agents in over 120 countries and territories, making it the 2nd largest real estate company in the world. The Real REMAX Group is publicly traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker REAX. Real is new to the Pittsburgh market, and we can't wait to connect with people one home at a time.
It's a misguided belief that if they claim to be "the top agent in Pittsburgh!" or the "#1 team in the market," Google (SEO) and AI models (AEO/GEO) will believe it and recommend them. They don't. When I was building our website and my own marketing, I looked at other agents' marketing for examples, and nine times out of ten, I saw these false claims. One team claiming to be number one is really closer to number 50. Another agent claiming to be the number one agent in the South Hills sold two homes in the past three years. Not only is this unethical, it can be illegal. Maybe it's my past life in corporate marketing that makes me so angry seeing it, but it's false advertising, and most agents have zero knowledge of marketing rules and laws.
